Highest Point Festival

AsherLancaster Student Life

Back again for its 6th year, the Highest Point Festival is one of the most popular events in Lancaster. In fact, people travel from all over the country for it! The ultimate goal of the festival is to create a legacy that Lancaster locals can be proud of, and it is, without a doubt, an event the city prides itself on. If you’ve not already been, it is most definitely worth checking out!

Highest Point is held on the grounds of Williamson Park on Friday the 10th and Saturday the 11th of May 2024. Williamson Park is one of the most well-known spots in Lancaster and is the perfect space to host the festival as it can be viewed from all around the town centre. The park itself has over 54 acres of space and boasts some of the best views of Lancaster and its surrounding areas. For all of our tenants living in student accommodation in Lancaster city centre, Williamson Park should be within walking distance. Alternatively, you could take a short bus journey from your student home.

The Line Up

With top artists such as Tom Odell, Sam Ryder and Busted, this year’s line up is proving to be one of the best they’ve had yet! For all of the headliners it’s their first time performing at the festival and every year as the event gets more and more popular, the line up keeps getting better and better. Taking part over 2 days, the festival (due to its size) is a non-camping festival so if there’s only one artist you want to see, you can save some money and just buy a day ticket. To see the full line up for the weekend click here. There are a range of different stages and areas located all around Willamson Park, with each stage and area playing a different genre of music. For those of you that prefer drum and bass, hip-hop and funk, then “The Woods” location is the one for you!

For those of you living in student accommodation in Lancaster town centre, you may be able to hear some of the music/artists whilst you’re out and about close to your home during the festival weekend.

Food and Drink

Like many festivals, Highest Point doesn’t allow visitors to bring their own food and drink to the festival. To combat this, they have arranged a wide variety of hot food and drinks vendors at the festival to purchase once you’re inside. With vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free options available, there’s something to suit everyone. You can expect drinks to be priced from around £2.50 to £6, and food to be priced from roughly £7 to £10. We would definitely recommend for our tenants to spend some time at the festival this year. It’s one of Lancaster’s biggest events after all! What better excuse to get out of your student accommodation for the day? You may even find one or two of the team up there…
