What is Light Up Lancaster?
Light Up Lancaster is an annual event that fills the city with creative light installations, clever illusions, and live performances. From Lancaster Castle to Market Square, every corner of the city glows with colour and imagination.
If you missed it last year, this is your chance to see why it’s one of Lancaster’s most loved traditions. The theme for 2025 is In The Blink of an Eye, exploring the idea that nothing is permanent through shape-shifting light and thought-provoking displays.
Whether you’re walking through the city centre or catching glimpses from your student window, the lights will make you see Lancaster in a whole new way.
