With longer, brighter days, warmer weather and no pressure from university, summer in Lancaster is a great opportunity to get out of your Lancaster student home, explore and discover new places, and make some lasting memories.
Here at Escape Campus, we understand that Lancaster student living is about more than just having a nice place to live. It’s about making memories and getting the most out of your university experience in Lancaster.
Williamson Park
Williamson Park is one of Lancaster’s most well-known and iconic spaces. If you’ve never been as a student, Williamson Park is a must-visit, especially when the weather is nice during the summer months.
With views across stunning Morecambe Bay, woodland walks, beautiful gardens and the well-loved Ashton Memorial, there’s plenty to see and do. Depending on where your Lancaster student accommodation is located, you may even be able to see the Ashton Memorial from one of your windows!
Take a picnic, listen to an audiobook and go for a woodland walk, or meet up with your friends for a day in the sun. There’s no better way to escape the hustle and bustle of the city centre and student life.

Morecambe Beach
Luckily for us in Lancaster, we’re located right next to Morecambe! Morecambe is a well-known seaside town with stunning views across Morecambe Bay. Located only a short bus or train journey, or car ride, from Lancaster, Morecambe is a must-visit during the summer months.
Why not go for a walk along the promenade, have an ice cream on the beach or enjoy some fish and chips at one of the many cafés along Morecambe promenade? The views across Morecambe Bay on a clear, sunny evening are worth making the journey for. You may even be able to see all the way over to Grange-over-Sands.
