National Burger Day this year falls on August 27th, and it’s a great excuse to take a break from uni work, gather your housemates and enjoy one of the world’s favourite meals! Whatever your dietary preferences, whether you’re after a classic burger, veggie burger, or a burger with all the trimmings, Lancaster is the spot for you!
For all our Lancaster students in town centre accommodation, National Burger Day is a great opportunity to try somewhere new or go to an old favourite. Wherever you decide to go, we’re sure you’ll be making some great memories! Burger Bill
One of Lancaster’s most iconic burger spots is Burger Bill’s van! Located in the middle of town, near McDonald’s, you cannot miss the burger van. It’s popular amongst locals and Lancaster students alike! Selling a classic burger that you can customise, you don’t get much better than Burger Bill’s for a quick bite to eat on the go.
The Whale Tail Café
If you’re wanting something less greasy and slightly healthier, The Whale Tail Café is one of Lancaster’s most popular vegan and vegetarian spots! Their homemade food is packed with flavour and will hit the spot for our Lancaster students wanting something more unique.
Gallico Lounge
If you’re wanting something more reliable, like a well-known food chain, Gallico Lounge is the perfect option! Located slap bang in the middle of Lancaster centre and at a reasonable price, perfect for our Lancaster students, Gallico Lounge has a wide range of burgers on offer, from chicken and beef to vegetarian and vegan options.
Make a Night of It
For all our Lancaster students, one of the best parts of being at university is creating memories with your friends and housemates, so why not get them involved? Make a night of it with your friends and try somewhere new, rate the burgers on a scale of 1-10, or, if you’re feeling adventurous, try and eat as many burgers as possible in one day!
If you prefer a quiet night in your Lancaster student home, you can always host your own burger night. Head into Lancaster centre and to the shops (Lidl and Aldi are both located in Lancaster, which are perfect for our Lancaster students on a budget) to grab your ingredients and make your own homemade burgers.
Making them yourself is perfect as you can tailor them exactly to your liking. Whether you’re wanting meat, veggie patties or a vegan option, you can make them exactly how you prefer. You could even get your housemates involved, with someone on sides, someone in charge of sauces, and everyone rating the best burger at the end.
