You will be provided with a guide on how we expect you to leave the property when you are signing up to a property. We expect you to follow it, basically emptying the house and giving everything a good cleaning it, to include things like toilets, under beds and defrosting freezers.
It’s in our tenancy agreements that tenants can’t put things up on the wall but we advise landlords to provide notice boards in bedrooms to give you somewhere to put things up on.

Absolutely! Gas safety certificates are needed annually and a detailed inspection of the electrics is done every five years, as well as the properties being essessed for their energy efficiency. LU Homes is an accreditation scheme run by Lancaster University on behalf of them and the University of Cumbria.
The experienced staff at LU Homes inspect all the properties that apply to the scheme and ensure that they, and the management service offered to you, meet their standards. It also gives you another place to go, aside from the PRS, to raise any issues you have when living in a rented property they have accredited.
These are events held on campus where you can come to one place and get advice about off campus accommodation from the likes of LU Homes, Lancaster City Council, Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service, as well as meeting us and members of the scheme.
LU Homes concentrate on the standards of the landlord or agent, the management of a property and then the quality and safety of a property. The standards can be found here.
