Whether you’re coupled up with the one, having fun with friends or single this Valentine’s Day, we want to make sure you still enjoy everything Lancaster has to offer on the day of love! Lancaster is a city full of magic and is the perfect setting for a lovely Valentine’s Day. All these ideas are also budget-friendly, perfect for our Lancaster students.

A scenic stroll

Lancaster is home to lots of beautiful spots that are perfect for a romantic stroll, one of the most popular spots is Williamson Park. Located just outside of the town centre, for those of you living in off-campus student accommodation in south Lancaster, Williamson Park is just a short distance away from your student home! The park itself offers picturesque views of the whole of Lancaster, the bay and the surrounding areas. Plus, if we’re lucky enough for a nice dry sunny day, you may even be able to enjoy a picnic in front of the iconic Ashton Memorial.

Enjoy a romantic meal

Why not head into Lancaster centre to enjoy a tasty meal out, whether it’s with your partner, or friends or you just want to treat yourself, Lancaster is home to some great restaurants. This includes options to suit all budgets- so don’t worry about breaking the bank! There’s something to suit everyone’s needs, if you want a particular cuisine such as Italian, Indian or Chinese, Lancaster has got you covered. There are also a few Vegan and Vegetarian spots, such as The Herbarium or The Whale Tail cafe if this is your preference. Also, lots of restaurants located in the centre offer special Valentine’s Day menus where you might be able to get a great deal!

 

Spend a cosy night in

For those of you who prefer a quiet night in but need some inspiration then don’t worry! Why not have a movie night with your housemates and binge-watch all the cheesy rom-com classics? Or cook a meal for someone special, we know that not all of our Lancaster students feel confident in cooking, so click here for some easy and simple Valentine’s Day meal ideas that won’t break the bank. Or if you want a self-care evening, why not get or make some snacks and enjoy a cosy night in your student accommodation?

 

To enjoy Valentine’s Day doesn’t mean that you have to spend lots of money, go out somewhere flashy, or have a significant other for that matter… Enjoying the simple things around you, a scenic walk, a home-cooked meal or a cosy night in your student accommodation are sure to make your Valentine’s Day a great one.
