Get involved at the Lancaster Christmas Markets
Located at the Lancaster Leisure Centre between November 24-26, the Christmas markets should only be a short distance from most of our off-campus student housing. There will be a range of different stalls containing wonderful foods, drinks and a wide selection of Christmas gifts. The markets are sure to get you in the festive mood and will have something that appeals to everyone!
Grab your skates for Lancaster on Ice
Lancaster on Ice is back again by popular demand! By far one of Lancaster’s most popular festive events, a skate up at Dalton Square is a definite must on everyone’s festive bucket list. Located slap bang in the centre of town at Dalton Square, and running from the 25th of November until January 7th, this event hosts a range of wonderful things to do. Enjoy traditional Christmas Markets, fairground rides, the big wheel, and the renowned Tipi Bar where you can get cosy and enjoy a hot drink.

Enjoy the spectacle of the Christmas Light Switch-On
Sponsored by Lancaster University and taking place on Sunday 26th November, Lancaster’s Christmas light switch-on is not one to be missed! This year is extra special as the headline act is one of Britain’s most popular bands Toploader singing their most popular songs. Why not make a day of it- get down there early and bag yourselves the best view!
Beyond Radio will be hosting the event this year, with a variety of different acts including live music, dancing, and our local theatres showcasing their Christmas performances. 2023’s Christmas light switch-on will start the festive season in style and is sure to be a hit with everyone. For those of you living in Lancaster town centre student accommodation, you may even be able to see the Christmas lights from your window!
