We know that for university students, term 3 can be one of the most challenging terms, with the pressure of exams, final assignments, and overall Uni life. Therefore, we wanted to put together a list of all the events happening in and around Lancaster during your final term to give you a well-deserved break. Trust us, if you can find the time in your schedule to go, you won’t regret it!

Enjoy a taste of Italy in Lancaster city centre

Lancaster Festa Italia is back for 2023, and it’s bigger than ever! From Saturday 20th May until Sunday 28th May enjoy everything the Italian Festival has to offer!

Lancaster city centre is the perfect backdrop for the event, and it will be hosting fantastic food and drink, supercars, Ducati bikes, and live music and entertainment in the town centre! Plus, as the event lasts for 9 days, you can easily work it around your university schedule.

The Viking Festival invades Heysham Village

The Viking Festival is returning once again in 2023, running the weekend of the 15th and 16th of July. Located in Heysham Village, the festival is just outside of Lancaster. However, for those of you in off-campus accommodation in Lancaster city centre, Heysham is easily accessible via bus or car. If you plan to take the bus to Heysham for the day, simply head down to the Lancaster Bus station, located at the bottom of town and catch the ‘2X’ into Heysham Village where the festival is located. There will be food and drink stalls, as well as Viking re-enactors taking part in battles and other themed activities.

If you’re really into history (calling all the Lancaster Uni history course students!) or you just fancy a day out in the beautiful Heysham Village, the Viking Fest is sure to be a hit.

Bring Cluedo to life with a Murder Mystery Night

A Murder Mystery night may not be everyone’s cup of tea, but those interested are sure to have an absolute blast! Located at the Royal Kings Arms Hotel slap bang in the centre of Lancaster, it’s just a stone’s throw away from any off-campus accommodation. The theme of the night is pirates, so don’t forget to grab your magnifying glass to find out who committed murder on the infamous Black Pearl!

Now this is a paid-for event with tickets costing £34.95 but included in the price you get, the 3-hour murder mystery event, tea/coffee and a 3-course meal. This is the perfect night to spend with your housemates from your student accommodation, or friends from your course! Either way, you’re sure to have a fun-filled evening.
