Pancake Day in Lancaster

AsherLancaster Student Life

The time has come again for one of the most important events of the year… Pancake Day!! Whether you prefer your pancakes sweet or savoury, make sure to make the most of this Pancake Day and enjoy all the treats you can! This year, Shrove Tuesday falls on Tuesday the 13th of February which, for a lot of our Lancaster University students (and our University of Cumbria students), means you may be in classes that day! Whether you’re up on Campus, doing online classes at home, or on a day off, here at Escape Campus we’ve put together everything you need to know to make the most of Pancake Day!

Spending Pancake Day in your Lancaster student home?

For those of you who have a rare day off University, or are working from home, don’t worry, you can still enjoy Shrove Tuesday! If you’re feeling confident enough, why not make pancakes for you and your housemates in your student home? Pancakes are one of the basic recipes you can follow, plus they’re so easy to customise to each person’s taste.

BBC Good Food has a really easy and simple recipe for making pancakes that even the most unsure person in the kitchen can follow. Don’t fancy the hassle of making your own pancake batter? Try buying a premade pancake mix so that all you need to do is add water and flip away! Lancaster town centre shouldn’t be too far from your off-campus student accommodation and is home to several supermarkets where you can buy your pancake mix and toppings.

Luckily for our Lancaster students, whether you’re making pancakes from scratch or using the premade batter, pancakes are such an inexpensive but tasty treat to make! Especially when sharing the cost between your entire student household.
